The Community strategic plan & Local Strategic Planning Statement calls for a review of the 2015 Village Plans to support sustainable growth and vitality within each Village.

Engagement with the Peel village community has commenced and is being planned in a COVID safe way. This discussion paper has been prepared to seek feedback from the Peel Community. The Discussion Paper outlines the existing village character and suggests a vision, a range of planning strategies and associated changes to planning controls to align with that vision.

The Draft Vision for Peel is:

We are a community fostered by friendly, encouraging individuality and active participation within wide open spaces. As the custodians of this unique environment. We have an obligation to maintain these unique characteristics. We are a cohesive village community where people can enjoy a peaceful rural lifestyle. We value the village much as it is now in a beautiful bushland rural setting. Community members continue to support each other and have an active social life. The heritage of the community is recognised and celebrated. Clear Creek and the natural environment is to be protected and enhanced. Our vision for Peel is one of integration with the natural environment.

Please email Maree.Neary@bathurst.nsw.gov.au to book a one on one consultation meeting with Council Staff on Tuesday 4th May at the Old School Hall, Dempsey Street, Peel between 2pm and 7pm to further discuss your vision for the village of Peel. Survey returns or any other submissions in relation to the background paper and draft vision should be received by Council by Friday, 4 June 2021.
