Miller Park Revised Concept Plan

Council has undertaken previous consultations with the community in relation to the enhancement play spaces at Miller Park, Bathurst. These enhancement projects are proudly funded by the NSW Government under the Everyone Can Play program for the purpose of demonstrating Every One Can Play (ECP) design principals Can I get there, Can I play, and Can I Stay.

The aim of these demonstration projects is to look at innovative ways to apply the ECP principles to existing small play spaces in a cost effective cost-effective manner. The intent is to enable Councils across NSW to replicate this approach and improve inclusion for all play spaces.

Upon review of the initial concept designs prepared for these parks and feedback by the community, it was considered that further design changes be made to the plans to further improve inclusion, accessibility and connection for all potential users. The designs aim to appeal to the broader community by increasing inclusion, introducing nature play and exploratory experiences, and ensuring there is still opportunities for passive recreation to the benefit of all park users.

Council is seeking further feedback from the community on revised concept designs that have been developed for Miller Park under the NSW Government’s Everyone Can Play guidelines.

Submissions close 8 July.
