Red Bench Project
Bathurst Regional Council in conjunction with the Community Safety Committee has launched the Red Bench Project. Councillor Jacqui Rudge talks about the importance of the project in a regional community like Bathurst NSW.
The Red Bench Project is an initiative of the Red Rose Foundation, to create a permanent reminder that domestic violence occurs within all communities. The presence of a Red Bench in a public space aims to raise public awareness and provides an opportunity for this important issue to remain visible.
The Red Benches are located in Kings Parade and Machattie Park.

Launch of Cirencester Shop at Bathurst Visitor Information Centre
The beauty of the historic city of Cirencester and The Cotswolds in England has come to Bathurst with the launch of a new retail range and display at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre on Friday 25 October.
The store includes a range of products from the Cotswolds District in which Cirencester is situated that were carefully selected, and all personally approved by Lord Bathurst. Products include Cotswolds skincare products and soap, Cotswold tea towels, magnets, make up bags and beautiful ‘Woollen Weavers’ lamb wool blankets.
Council plans to evaluate the success of the Cirencester Store, and to build on this learning to potentially expand the product range. The next stage of the economic initiative between the cities will involve BVIC staff coordinating a range of local products to be exported to Cirencester.
