Consultation has concluded
Council has prepared draft plans of management for ‘Community’ classified land in the Bathurst LGA. Plans of management provide guidance for the effective long-term management and use of public land and establishes direction for planning, resource management and land maintenance.
Two generic plans of management have been developed in accordance with relevant legislation, primarily relating to the Local Government Act 1993 and the Crown Land Management Act 2016. The first plan of management applies to Council owned community land and the second applies to Council managed Crown reserves.
Prior to finalising the plans of management, members of the community are invited to have their say about the proposed plans of management. Electronic copies are available under the ‘Documents’ section and hard copies are available for viewing at the second floor of the Civic Centre, 158 Russell Street and the Bathurst Library, 72 Keppel Street.
How to make a submission
The exhibition period commences 15 January and submissions will be accepted until 26 February 2024. Any submissions must include your name, address and contact details. Submissions can be made electronically via YourSay or in writing via:

During the exhibition period, a public hearing will be held at 5:30pm on 15 February 2024 at BMEC to discuss the categorisation or re-categorisation of some land within the Council Owned Community Land Plan of Management. It is requested that those interested in attending the public hearing register by 9 February by completing the form below.
