Staged in the beautiful, heritage CBD of Bathurst, the festival is a showcase of all that is vibrant, creative and unique in the region.
Over the duration of the festival, we watched our iconic buildings come alive through static and interactive illumination breathing life into the historic architecture.
Many of you amused yourself in the Winter Playground sampling the charm of the outdoor McDonald’s Bathurst Ice Rink, the giant Ferris wheel and magical two-story carousel.
A record crowd was seen delighting their senses at the two festival nights, “Ignite the Night” and “Brew and Bite”.
Absolutely loved the winter festival, loved ice skating, Ferris wheel and carousel during the day, maybe could be improved by having something else for the kids to do afterwards, arts, crafts. Maze. We headed off to Annie's for ice cream afterwards
Loved loved loved the night festivities in machattie park what a wonderful wonderland to explore at night, lines were too long for food so we gave that a miss and got tea elsewhere, maybe let people know what is happening and where, we missed the displays on the ice as we did not know there was anything happening there, as well as circus sureal, fantastic performance we were able to watch
Hats off to the organisers of the winter festival, you all did a fantastic job, looking forward to next year,
We are locals ages ranging from 6 - 65 who had a ball but also took a family member from out of town who is 80 who loved it as well
Like many people have mentioned, there was not enough food vans to cope with the number of people that attended. I'm from Bathurst, but gave up and went home after waiting for 30minutes and not moving forward.
There needs to be more to do during the day on the weekends. After going ice skating, on the Ferris Wheel and a wander through the park, then what? Market stalls during the day would be great, with preference given to local stall holders would keep more people in town during the day, who might then go to eat in town. Perhaps a treasure hunt for the kids? Or some specific winter crafts at different locations, like the Library, or Museum.
