New Fees - Bathurst Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC)
In order to cover some of the operational costs associated with adoption of dogs and cats from the Bathurst Animal Rehoming Centre, a number of new charges and one amended charge are recommended for inclusion in the Revenue Policy.
Following the finalisation of the 2025/26 Revenue Policy, a number of consumable items supplied by BARC were identified where cost recovery should be sought. These items are required to assist a customer in the safe transport of their new pet or when at owner attends to collect a stray.
The proposed new charges are:
- Cat carrier: $15
- Muzzle: $40
- Dog lead: $5
- Harness: $5
All charges are GST inclusive.
An amended charge for Dangerous Dogs signs is also proposed, as the current fee no lover covers the purchase price for Coucnil to buy this item.
The amended fee is:
- Current Fee $52
- Amended Fee: $70
This price is GST inclusive.
Council is now seeking feedback on these new and amended fees.
