Council has recently received a request from Chifley Local Area Command to amend the referral requirements for specific development. The Protocol between NSW Police Chiefly Local Area Command and Bathurst Regional Council requires specific development to undergo a crime risk assessment to minimise crime risk and incorporate Safer By Design principles. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) is a strategic approach to development to reduce the likelihood of crime in the urban environment.
Council is exhibiting the amendment to the draft Bathurst Regional Development Control Plan 2014 for a period of 28 days from 31 October 2016 until 28 November 2016.
