Consultation has concluded
Council has prepared a Draft Management Plan for Wattle Flat Public Recreation Reserve (also known as Wattle Flat Racecourse and Wattle Flat Golf Course), which is on exhibition for community feedback. The creation of a Management Plan is an important step to ensure that activities undertaken at the site balance the recreational needs of the community with the need to protect the environmental values of the site, including the protection of the Critically Endangered Ecological Communities - White Box – Yellow Box – Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland and Derived Native Grassland, which have legal protection under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
The draft Management Plan provides clarity on the future use and management of the Reserve and aims to ensure consistent management which supports the varied needs of the community.
Council recognises the importance of ensuring that the community's perceptions, ideas and concerns are considered in finalising the Management Plan. We therefore invite the community to have their say on the draft Management Plan.
