Project Update 21 February 2020

Extensive work is continuing on service identification and relocation which involves gas, water, telecommunications and electricity. It is anticipated this phase of the project will be completed by the end of March.

What is happening?

The carpark next to the Scout Hall is closed while a water main line is installed in the area and in the laneway at the rear of the shops. Works to reinstate the carpark will commence next week and is expected to be completed by Friday for customers to access the shops.
The following week, commencing March 2, the carpark in front of the shops will close for works to continue on the water mains.

Changes to traffic, bus zones, school drop off zones and parking in the Mitre Suttor Lambert St intersection remain in place and will continue as the work progresses.
Please follow the directions of traffic control staff on site and be aware of changes to parking in the area. Council is asking that motorists allow for possible delays when travelling through the intersection and allow additional time for school pick up and drop offs.
The project will take up to 9 months to complete and any wet weather may push back the completion date.

A radio campaign is continuing to run on local radio to remind the community that businesses adjacent to the intersection remain open.
