Project Update 6 March 2020

Extensive work is continuing on service identification and relocation which involves gas, water, telecommunications and electricity. It is anticipated this phase of the project will be completed by the end of March.

What is happening?

The carpark next to the businesses has been reinstated after trenching works to install water mains. The lane way to the rear of the businesses has also been reopened. The carpark to the front of the shops will close when water main works commence. As the water main works progress, there will be impact to Mitre Street and traffic flow through the intersection.

Changes to traffic, bus zones, school drop off zones and parking in the Mitre Suttor Lambert St intersection remain in place and will continue as the work progresses. Please follow the directions of traffic control staff on site and be aware of changes to parking in the area. Council is asking that motorists allow for possible delays when travelling through the intersection and allow additional time for school pick up and drop offs.

The project will take up to 9 months to complete and any wet weather may push back the completion date.
