Section 356 Donations
Council is seeking expressions of interest from community organisations and individuals seeking funding from Council to be included in 2023/2024 budget. Funding is available from 1 July 2023 to June 30 2024. To apply, submit an application form available on the Council website or from the Civic Centre by 4pm Tuesday 7 February.
Organisations/groups who have received funding previously should re-apply if they wish to be considered for further funding. For more information give us a call on 6333 6257 or visit our website www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au
Marang Connections
Song and music workshops
In partnership with Drew Churches and Greer Films, Council will host three workshops to produce a song and music video. The music production workshops will be held at Kelso Community Hub on Wednesday, 18 January and Friday, 20 January 2023 from 10:00am – 3:00pm on both days.
The video production will held on Wednesday 25 January 2023 from 10:00am – 4:30pm across various locations (participants to be advised during music production workshops).
The workshops are suited for Indigenous and Non-Indigenous young people, aged 8 – 18 years who are interested in creative and performing arts, music and filming. For more information or to book transport, phone 6333 6523.
Marang Connections is funded under the joint Australian Government - NSW Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements 2018.
Waste 2 Art
Waste 2 Art is an annual community art exhibition and competition open to all residents of the Bathurst region. It showcases creative works made from reused waste materials. The aim is to challenge perceptions about waste and to celebrate the reuse and recycling of waste through arts and crafts. This year’s theme is Year of Textiles.
Council is inviting individuals, schools, and community groups to take up the challenge and create a new life for materials that would otherwise have been thrown away.

World Cross Country
Spectator tickets and entries for mass participation races at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 2023 are now on sale. Hosted by Athletics Australia, the World Athletics Cross Country Championships will see up to 500 of the world’s best athletes from across the globe descend upon Mount Panorama in New South Wales, in what promises to be one of the most gruelling, ‘back to basics’ event of the World Athletics Series.

Living Legends
Nominations are open for the Living Legends 2023. The title, Living Legend, recognises the achievements of individuals and the way they have contributed positively to the community. They could be proven leaders amongst their peers, promote the positive qualities of Council, the community and local businesses.

Australia Day
Reflect, Respect and Celebrate Australia Day. Welcome new citizens
at 9.30am followed by an awards ceremony at 11.30am. Both events will be held at BMEC with light refreshments and a chance to see the Australian Movie Memorabilia exhibition.
The festivities continue with free entry into the Manning Aquatic Centre from 11am.

Archie 100: A Centenary of the Archibald Prize
January 26 – March 26
The exhibition at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery includes the work of Australia’s most famous artists including William Dobell, Wendy Sharpe, Ben Quilty and Vincent Namatjira – the first Indigenous artist to win the Archibald Prize in its history in 2020.
