Event of the Year Applications
Council and the Australia Day committee are encouraging local organisations to nominate for the Bathurst Region Community Event of the Year Award and Bathurst Region Destination Event
of the Year Award for events staged in 2022.
Each winner will receive $2000 of radio and print advertising with 2BS/B-Rock and Central West Village Voice for advertising the event in 2023.

Kelso Community Hub Christmas Party
In partnership with Bathurst Local Aboriginal Land Council and Bathurst Community Transport, a Christmas Party will be held at the Kelso Community Hub on Wednesday 14 December.
The event will commence at 4:00pm and include Santa photos, jumping castles, a barbecue, games and activities. There will be a Christmas light bus tour leaving from the Kelso Community Hub at 7.45pm. Participants for the bus tour must be at least 4 years of age and children under school age must be accompanied by an adult. For more information phone 6333 6523.
Assessment of Historic Lamp Standards
Contractors will undertake a condition assessment and maintenance plan for the lamp standards to assess the condition of the lamps and provide advice on maintenance on William, George Howick and Keppel Streets and within Machattie Park, King’s Parade and Chifley Memorial Park.
Part of the assessment will include a detailed inspection of each lamp standard which will require the use of drone technology and temporary traffic management measures to be put in place for lamp standards that are located within the road reserve.
It is anticipated that the inspections will commence next week and will be done in the early morning period to minimise disruption to traffic.
Temporary closure of Boundary Rd Walking Tracks
The Boundary Road Reserve Landcare Group has temporarily closed the walking tracks due to water damage and poor track conditions.
Christmas Closures
The Civic Centre will be closed at 12.00 noon on Friday, 23 December and will reopen 8.30am on Tuesday, 3 January. For a full list of Council facility closures over the Christmas period, visit www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au.
Floodplain Management Plan

Council is currently reviewing the Floodplain Management Plan and we are seeking your input. The Floodplain Management Plan was developed to reduce the risk of flooding through flood mitigation strategies. It is a requirement under the NSW Government's Floodplain Management program.
The objective is to improve understanding of flood events to better inform flood risk management for property owners and community facilities.
We are looking for photos, videos, stories and feedback on how the community was impacted by the recent flooding events. Visit the Bathurst YourSay website to provide feedback.
Floodplain Risk Management Committee
Council is seeking to appoint three suitable candidates with appropriate skills and experience for the role of a community representative of the Floodplain Risk Management Committee (FRMC). The FRMC has been established to provide a forum to discuss issues (technical, social, environmental and cultural) relevant to the development and implementation of Floodplain Risk Management Studies and Plans throughout the Bathurst Regional LGA in accordance with the NSW Floodplain Development Manual 2005.

World Cross Country
Spectator tickets and entries for mass participation races at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 2023 are now on sale. Hosted by Athletics Australia, the World Athletics Cross Country Championships will see up to 500 of the world’s best athletes from across the globe descend upon Mount Panorama in New South Wales, in what promises to be one of the most gruelling, ‘back to basics’ event of the World Athletics Series.

Kelso Community Hub Expressions of Interest
Council is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the tenancy of the Kelso Community Hub facility, Bonnor Street Kelso. Details about the Expressions of Interest process can be found on Council’s website or by calling 6333 6252. Expression of Interest opens on Friday 4 November 2022 and must be lodged by 4 pm on 16 December.
Market Stall Applications
Applications are now open for market stalls who wish to have a stall at Council’s annual NYE Party in the Park event to be held Saturday 31 December. To apply visit bathurst.nsw.gov.au

DPI and Local Land Services staff, farmers and agricultural industry representatives use this form to record damage to primary production and animals from natural disasters.
The damage survey allows you to record crops, animals, infrastructure and other items which contribute to primary production which are damaged in a single event.
