Garage sale trail

There are two weekends lined up 12-13 and 19-20 November. If you have a garage full of stuff that you were planning to throw out, why not consider hosting a sale instead and save these items from landfill?

This year, Council presents the Trail Tutorials workshop series from 29 October to 5 November. Part of the @GarageSaleTrail festival, for a series of inspiring, educational, and free talks all about sustainability with renovation guru Barry du Bois, comedian and waste warrior Craig Reucassel and Walkley-award-winning journalist Annabel Crabb.

World Cross Country

Spectator tickets and entries for mass participation races at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 2023 are now on sale. Hosted by Athletics Australia, the World Athletics Cross Country Championships will see up to 500 of the world’s best athletes from across the globe descend upon Mount Panorama in New South Wales, in what promises to be one of the most gruelling, ‘back to basics’ event of the World Athletics Series.

Sports Afternoon

As part of the Marang Connections project, a sports afternoon will be held at the Kelso Community Hub on Thursday, 27 October from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. To organise transport or for more information, please call 6333 6523.

Marang Connections is funded under the joint Australian Government – NSW Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements 2018.

Planning proposal on public exhibition

A Planning Proposal which seeks to insert a site-specific planning control into the Bathurst Regional Local Environmental Plan 2014 (LEP 2014) is on public exhibition. It relates to the following sites:

Bathurst Integrated Medical Centre (BIMC) site – at 252 Howick Street (privately owned)

George Street Carpark (GSC) site – Lot 11 in DP1160748 (Council owned).

The Planning Proposal seeks to amend the height and floor space ratio provisions of the LEP 2014 to facilitate development of a six-storey Integrated Medical Centre and a four-storey carpark.

Spatial Digital Twin

The NSW Government is developing the Bathurst Spatial Digital Twin which showcases a digital model of Bathurst and surrounds. Released as a prototype, the Bathurst Digital Twin will continue to be developed and improved with your help. A digital twin’s primary purpose is to use the digital representation for insights and decision making. To help grow and improve this project the NSW Government is seeking your feedback. Pet Desexing Program

Council, in partnership with the RSPCA, is hosting a community pet desexing program from Monday 7 November until Friday 18 November.

This program is open to pensioners and low-income earners who are residents of the Bathurst Regional Council Local Government Area.

The subsidised cost for this desexing program is as follows:

Dog - Female $70.00 - Male $55.00

Cat - Female $55.00 - Male $40.00

The cost of microchipping, first vaccination, pain relief and hospitalisation are included in the cost.

Places are strictly limited, and bookings are essential. To reserve a place you will need to contact one of the following surgeries:
