Vote for the River Connections Program

The River Connections Program connects Bathurst school students with the Macquarie/Wambuul River bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to share skills and experiences. CCTV funding program

Council is providing funding to assist local businesses improve security and community safety.

Businesses may apply for funding up to a maximum of $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis, under the criteria of the CCTV funding program.

Applications close: 4pm Friday 19 August

Sporting Association Grants

Each year Council provides a grant scheme to assist local sporting organisations to undertake specific works or purchase equipment for the advancement of sport in the Bathurst region. Sporting organisations that are affiliated with the Bathurst District Sport and Recreation Council are eligible to apply for these grants. A total of $20,000 has been allocated to this scheme. Further information and application forms are available from Council’s Recreation Section on 6333 6285 or Council’s website bathurst.nsw.gov.au. Applications close on Tuesday 27 September.

Host Families wanted

The Bathurst Visitor Information Centre is looking for families to host Japanese High School Students from 3 – 6 March 2023. It is a great opportunity to share and learn about each other’s culture. Hosting one or more students is compensated, and you will have the opportunity to join in some of the cultural exchange activities at the welcome and farewell. Tourism Wayfinding and Signage Strategy

The Destination Management Plan adopted by Council in 2019 identified the need for a review and for the development of a strategic approach to tourism signage. To achieve this outcome, a new Tourism Wayfinding and Signage Strategy is being developed. Survey closes on August 26 at 5.00pm.

Bathurst Town Centre Master Plan and Draft Policy

The Bathurst Town Centre Master Plan was adopted by Council in July to inform future decision making within the CBD. The draft policy Futureproofing our CBD – 2022 and Beyond is now on public exhibition. To provide feedback visit yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au

EPA clean-up of flood debris program

The EPA is leading several clean-up programs to help with the collection and disposal of flood debris from the past 18 months.

The land-based program is for the clean-up of man-made flood debris from public land and has recently been extended to include eligible large or hazardous man-made debris on private land in flood-affected communities

Property owners and tenants are advised that they can make a request for support to remove eligible debris from private land through the Service NSW website at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/request-clean-up-flood-debris-private-land-program.
