Have Your Say

Bathurst Region Active Transport Strategy

Council has commenced community consultation for the Bathurst Regional Council Active Transport Survey. The Bathurst Active Transport Strategy will consider walking, cycling and e-riding activities within the Bathurst region. To ensure that the views of the broadest possible cross section of the community are consulted during the strategy’s development, Council has engaged Taverner Research to undertake the community consultation process which includes a phone survey, targeted workshops and an on-line survey. The aim of the consultation process is to establish baseline participation rates of the community in walking, cycling and e-riding and to identify what changes to the active transport network might promote greater participation rates into the future.

If you would like to take part in the online survey at yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/active-transport-strategy. Closes 21 November.

Presentation of Financial Statements

Council advises that the Ordinary Council meeting to be held on 17 November 2021 will include the presentation of the audited Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Reports for the year ending 30 June 2021. Closes 2 December.

EOI Former TAFE Precinct

Council has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the redevelopment of the former TAFE Precinct.

The precinct will be a once in a generation opportunity for the Bathurst region. The precinct will include a new public plaza and new buildings, adaptive reuse of the former TAFE and headmaster’s buildings. It is informed by previous community consultation and conservation management plans.

Council is seeking development interest in the precinct with private (not Council) funding. Private funding allows for the full precinct to be developed, it also allows money from the development of new private buildings to fund the new ‘plaza’ and the adaptive reuse of the Heritage Buildings.
