Pet Desexing Program

The desexing program runs from Monday 6 November through to Friday 17 November.

The subsidised cost for this desexing program is as follows:

Dog (female) - $70.00

Cat (female) - $55.00

Dog (male) - $55.00

Cat (male) - $40.00

The cost of microchipping is included for both dogs and cats. First vaccinations are included for dogs only. Pain relief and hospitalisation are included in the cost for both dogs and cats.

Places are strictly limited and bookings are essential. To book contact one of the following surgeries:

This program is open to pensioners and low income earners (healthcare card holders) who are residents of the Bathurst Regional Local Government Area.

Nominations are now open for the Citizen of the Year award, Living Legends, Youth Arts Award and Event of the Year awards.

Community Tree Planting Day - Macquarie Wambuul River

10am, Sunday 29 October 2023 between Morrisset Street and Zante Lane, Bathurst.

No experience needed and all plants and equipment are provided. Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat and wear suitable shoes, and clothing for being outdoors. The event will go ahead in light rain, so bring a raincoat if required. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult carer.

Dobell Drawing Prize at the Gallery

2 September - 5 November

The Dobell Drawing Prize is Australia’s leading prize for drawing, an unparalleled celebration of technique, innovation, and expanded approaches to drawing by acclaimed and emerging drawing practitioners. This exhibition showcases over 45 artworks.

Author Talk – Richard Glover

Richard Glover, ABC radio journalist and host of radio comedy program Thank God Its Friday, will be in-conversation with fellow ABC journalist Simon Marnie at Bathurst Library on Monday 23 October, 6pm. The conversation will discuss Richard’s new book Best Wishes, perfect for people who hate noisy restaurants, pre-ripped jeans and pedestrians who walk 5 abreast. Best Wishes is a heartfelt and hilarious plea for a better world – one wish at a time. Bookings can be made by calling the library on 6333 6281.

Upgrade of William and Keppel Street Roundabout

Council has received Black Spot Program Funding to improve the safety of the William and Keppel Street roundabout. Works will commence on Tuesday 24 October and expected to take around 6-10 weeks with completion in December. For 2-4 of these weeks the roundabout will be open to traffic. For 4-6 of these weeks, the roundabout will be fully closed to traffic. For more information contact Council on 6333 6111.
