Coffee with a Councillor
As part of Local Government Week, catch up with Councillors on Thursday, 4 August between 11.30am – 1.30pm at the Armada Shopping Centre next to Banjos cafe. This is a chance to chat to Councillors about projects or issues in an informal setting. Light catering will be provided.
Marang Connections | Family Fun Afternoon
A fun afternoon with activities is being provided by Creative Community Concepts, Bathurst Library and headspace Bathurst. Enjoy ice cream and a free barbecue at the Kelso Community Hub on Thursday, 10 August from 3:30pm – 5.00pm
Transport will be available and can be booked by calling 6333 6523 before Monday 7 August.
The activity is suitable for Indigenous and Non-Indigenous young people aged 8 -16 years. Marang Connections is funded under the joint Australian Government - NSW Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements 2018.
Bathurst Careers Expo
The Bathurst Careers Expo, sponsored by Charles Sturt University will be held on Wednesday 2 August. It is an opportunity for school students and job seekers to
meet with a variety of education providers, employers and government agencies.
The expo will be held in the at Charles Sturt University gymnasium between 9am and 3pm.

National Tree Day
Location: Macquarie Wambuul River, Evans Bridge, Bathurst
Time/Date: 10am Sunday 30 July
Join us on Sunday, July 30 for National Tree Day and lend a hand to help plant native plants along the banks of the Macquarie Wambuul River
Commencing at 10 am next to Evans Bridge in Baillie Street Open Space Reserve, this event welcomes adults and kids to participate in planting native trees, shrubs, and grasses. There will be a free barbecue lunch for all participants.
Sporting Association Grants
Sporting organisations affiliated with the Bathurst District Sport and Recreation Council are eligible to apply for grants to assist local sporting organisations undertake specific works or purchase equipment for the advancement of sport in the Bathurst Region. Information and application forms are available from Council’s Recreation Section on 6333 6285 or on Council’s website.
Applications close 26 September.
Bathurst CCTV Funding Program
Council is providing funding to assist local businesses improve security and community safety. Businesses may apply for funding up to a maximum of $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis, under the criteria of the Bathurst CCTV funding program.

Bathurst Access Improvement Grants
Council in partnership with the Bathurst Regional Access Committee provides grants to assist businesses and non-profit organisations improve access and inclusion to their place of business/organisation.
Businesses and non-profit organisations within the Bathurst region may apply for funding of 50 per cent of project costs, up to a maximum grant amount of $5,000. Projects must be completed within the 2023/2024 financial year to be eligible to apply for a grant. Retrospective funding can be considered providing the project is completed in the current financial year.

Swimming pool inspections policy
Council is seeking feedback on its Swimming Pool Inspection Policy. The policy deals with issues such as the inspection of residential properties at the point of sale or lease; the inspection of properties used for tourist visitor accommodation; and the charging of fees for undertaking inspections.

Community participation plan
Council has prepared an amendment to the Bathurst Regional Community Participation Plan 2019 (CPP). The CPP identifies how and when members of the community can become involved in Development Applications and Strategic Planning Initiatives, under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The draft CPP is on exhibition from 3 July - 31 July.
