Applications are now open to join the Youth Council

The Bathurst Regional Youth Council’s role is to represent the voice of young people who live, work and study in the Bathurst Local Government Area. For detailed information and to make an application visit www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au

Dino-Time

On Wednesday, 31 May from 10.00am to 1.00pm the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum is offering a sensory friendly session with reduced lights and sounds and sensory zones.

The museum will be closed to the public during this time. Admission charges apply however caregivers will be given free entry. For more information or for group bookings please phone 6338 2860.

Writers’ and Readers’ Festival

The Bathurst Writers’ & Readers’ Festival is an annual literary event presented by BMEC in association with Bathurst Library, Arts OutWest and Books Plus, Bathurst. The festival includes a number of live streamed events from Sydney Writers’ Festival. The festival takes place from Thursday 25 May until Sunday 28 May at both BMEC and Bathurst Library.

Village Meetings

Council will be holding its next round of meetings with residents in rural areas during May and June.

Each meeting will be held at the following locations:

  • Sunny Corner, Community Hall – 29 May at 6.00pm
  • Wattle Flat, Recreation Hall – 30 May at 6.00pm
  • Hill End, ‘Hosies’, 23 Clarke Street – 13 June at 5.00pm

Heritage Assistance Grants

Applications are now invited for small grants, under Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993, for Council’s Heritage Assistance Funds. Applications must be made on Council’s application form which is available on YourSay Bathurst. Applications close on 9 June.

West of Central - 1 July to 27 August

Home to an increasing cohort of contemporary artists and creatives seeking connection, respite, and balance, regional Australia is a place where artists have space to create,

experiment, respond and challenge.

This exhibition showcases the work of 16 regionally based artists who choose to make work on Wiradjuri Country in the Central Tablelands of NSW. Of primary concern is the impact of man-made and climactic events on the ecologies and landscape of the region.

Draft Long Term Financial Plan

The Draft Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) is a ten-year view of Council’s finances and has been developed under the NSW Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP & R) Framework.
