Child restraint safety check

Ensure all children are safe and secure when travelling in vehicles. There will be free child restraint checks by authorised Child Restraint Fitters at the Bathurst Library on Wednesday 5 April from 10am to 1pm.

Bookings are essential, email Kym.Snow@transport.nsw.gov.au to secure your place.

Harmony Week

Harmony Week will be celebrated from 20 to 26 March. Council and The Neighbourhood Centre invite community members and early childhood services to celebrate Harmony Week at the library on Wednesday 22 March from 10:30am to 11:30am.

The celebration is a free event and will include Baby Rhyme Time, music, multicultural food and the launch of a video for early childhood services.

Sustainable Living Expo

The Sustainable Living Expo will run from 8.00am to 12.00pm on 25 March and will feature a range of exhibitions, market stalls and the popular Australian Wildlife Displays. This year’s special guest will be Grant Denyer who will host a sustainability quiz and engage in a panel discussion with local sustainability experts. The expo will be held at Bathurst Showground and entry is by gold coin donation. For more information visit www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au

NRL Tickets on sale

Tickets are now on sale for round 9 of the NRL Telstra Premiership at Carrington Park between Penrith Panthers and Wests Tigers to be played at Carrington Park on Saturday 29 April.

Waste 2 Art

Waste 2 Art is an annual community art exhibition and competition open to all residents of the Bathurst region. It showcases creative works made from reused waste materials. The aim is to challenge perceptions about waste and to celebrate the reuse and recycling of waste through arts and crafts. This year’s theme is Year of Textiles.

Council is inviting individuals, schools, and community groups to take up the challenge and create a new life for materials that would otherwise have been thrown away.

Entry forms and further information are available on Council’s website. Entries close 20 March.

Heritage Assistance Grants

Applications are now invited for small grants, under Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993, for Council’s Heritage Assistance Funds. Applications must be made on Council’s application form which is available on YourSay Bathurst. Applications close on 9 June.

Council invites community organsations to apply for funding from the 2023 ClubGRANTS Scheme.

All applications are required to be completed by ClubGRANTS Online. No manual applications can be

Danelle Bergstrom: Afterglow at BRAG

1 April - 11 June

Acclaimed Australian-Swedish painter Danelle Bergstrom works in landscape and portraiture as vessels to navigate human emotion. Afterglow, is the artist’s first career survey and traces the interior scapes of Bergstrom’s own life as they are reflected in the overtures and undertones of her subjects both in landscape and portrait.
