Staged reopening of Council Facilities
Council will begin a staged reopening of facilities to the community from Thursday, 14 October starting with the Bathurst Visitor Information.
The Civic Centre, Library, Art Gallery, BMEC and Museums will begin to open their doors from Monday, 18 October.
General Manager David Sherley said detailed risk assessments are currently being completed.
“The key priority is ensuring we are creating as a safe environment for members of the community visiting our facilities,” he said.
“Like other businesses and facilities, we require those visiting any Council facility to be fully vaccinated, unless they have a valid exemption.”
“It is important to note that we will continue to offer Council services via phone and email to the community.”
The proposed re-opening schedule is
• BVIC: Thursday 14 October
• Civic Centre: Monday 18 October
• Library: Week commencing 18 October
• Art Gallery: Week commencing 18 October
• Museums: Week commencing 18 October (except Chifley Home which remains closed)
• Kelso Community Hub: Taking bookings from third parties from 18 October
• BMEC: To be confirmed
• Children’s Services: Remains open
• Waste Management Centre: Remains open
Signage will be placed at the entry to all Council facilities outlining the conditions of entry, which are:
- QR Code in
- Show Vaccination Certificate
- Wear Masks
- Sanitise Hands
- Capacity Limits for buildings
- If unwell, please come back
A concierge service will be in place at the front door of each facility to ensure entry conditions are being met.
