Congratulations to the recipients of the annual Bathurst District Sport and Recreation Council sports awards.

1. Devro Junior Sportsperson of the Year Jenna Gallager – Cycling & Daniel Googe – Cycling
2. Devro Junior Team of the Year - Bathurst Giants Youth Girls Team
3. BFP Award for Club/Association Organisational Excellence - Robert Smith – Motorcycling
4. Bathurst Panthers & Bathurst RSL Club Senior Sporting Team Award - Bushrangers Senior Men’s Tier 1 side – AFL & Giants Senior Women’s Team – AFL
5. Award for Refereeing/Umpiring Distinction (Seniors) presented - Jillian Long – Hockey
6. Mature Athlete Award - Mark Windsor – Cycling

The annual Bathurst District Sport and Recreation Council grant presentations were made to the following clubs by Deputy Mayor Ian North:

• Bathurst Bushrangers
• Bathurst Hockey
• Bathurst Giants
• Eglinton Tennis Club
• Bathurst Little Athletics

The grant program is funded by Council and administered by the BDSRC. This year, as one of Council’s COVID relief measures, grant recipients are able to use the grants for both capital and operational purposes.

BDSRC member Paul Haysom was also acknowledged for his 30 years of service on the committee.
