Register your pet
Council has a new service which sends SMS reminders to dog and cat owners to register their pets.
Registering your pet and updating the contact details, if required, is the best way to ensure your pet is returned to you if they ever become lost. Another round of reminders will be sent to pet owners soon.
The registration fee is a once-only payment, which covers the cat or dog for its lifetime in NSW, regardless of any changes in ownership. You can visit www.petregistry.nsw.gov.au to register and update your details. Don’t forget to have your desexing paperwork with you to access the discounted fees.
CCTV funding program
Council is providing funding to assist local businesses improve security and community safety.
Businesses may apply for funding up to a maximum of $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis, under the criteria of the CCTV funding program.

Access improvement grants
Council, in partnership with the Bathurst Regional Access Committee provides grants to assist businesses and non-profit organisations improve access and inclusion to their place of business/organisation

Sporting Association Grants
Each year Council provides a grant scheme to assist local sporting organisations to undertake specific works or purchase equipment for the advancement of sport in the Bathurst region. Sporting organisations that are affiliated with the Bathurst District Sport and Recreation Council are eligible to apply for these grants. A total of $20,000 has been allocated to this scheme. Further information and application forms are available from Council’s Recreation Section on 6333 6285 or Council’s website bathurst.nsw.gov.au.
Applications close on Tuesday 27 September.

Partnering with NetWaste and the EPA, Council is inviting residents to complete a survey that seeks to understand how to use the green lidded kerbside Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) bin.

Bathurst Town Centre Master Plan and Draft Policy
The Bathurst Town Centre Master Plan was adopted by Council in July to inform future decision making within the CBD. The draft policy Futureproofing our CBD – 2022 and beyond is now on public exhibition. To provide feedback visit yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au
Coffee with a Councillor
As part of local government week, we will host Coffee with a Councillor on Tuesday, 2 August from 10am to 12pm at the Rail Museum. The community is invited to come and have a chat and a free coffee and morning tea. RSVP to events@bathurst.nsw.gov.au
Host Families wanted
The Bathurst Visitor Information Centre is looking for families to host Japanese High School Students from 3 – 6 March 2023. It is a great opportunity to share and learn about each other’s culture. Hosting one or more students is compensated, and you will have the opportunity to join in some of the cultural exchange activities at the welcome and farewell.
