Mayor urges community to stay calm

Mayor of Bathurst Cr Ian North has urged the community to remain calm after Bathurst’s first Covid-19 case was confirmed on Friday afternoon.

Mayor Ian North said the case was in isolation and reminded residents if they have the mildest of symptoms to go and get tested.

“I can’t stress enough how important it is that if you have even the mildest of cold or flu-like symptoms, go and get tested and isolate until you get your results,” he said.

“Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of taste or smell.”
