Go Kart Track Meeting with Minister

Mayor of Bathurst Cr Bobby Bourke has thanked Minister for the Environment Sussan Ley for the opportunity for Councillors and Council staff to meet with her during her visit to Bathurst, and Mount Panorama-Wahluu today.

“Council was able to spend time with the Minister this morning presenting Council’s position in relation to the Section 9 declaration and the Section 10 application that are currently before the Minister and her Department.

“Council spoke about the processes it has gone through in consideration of the go kart track project. Council also raised with the Minister that the Section 9 declaration takes in an area much larger than the Go-Kart track construction site and what this potentially could mean for ongoing and future activities in the Mount Panorama precinct, including motor sports and other events."

“We again gave our undertaking to the Minister that Council will abide by the conditions of the Section 9 declaration and we will now let the Minister consider all of the information she has gathered during her visit to the city and wait for her decision in regards to this matter.”
