Get tested and stay at home if you are feeling unwell

MEDIA RELEASE 26 August 2021

In the past 24 hours our city has seen the number of positive COVID-19 cases rise by 2 taking the total number of active cases in the community to 9.

Mayor of Bathurst Ian North said his priority during this challenging and uncertain period is to keep the community safe.

“I would like to remind everyone in our community to please get tested even if you have the mildest of symptoms and stay at home until you get your results,” he said.

“Residents are also reminded to practise good hygiene, QR code in and out of venues, wear face masks and social distance when out and about.”

“NSW Health has established extra testing capacity at the Mount Panorama drive-through clinic that is highly efficient. Testing clinics are also available at Bathurst Hospital and Bathurst Respiratory Clinic at CSU.”

Please remember to follow the public health orders currently in place and to get tested if you are feeling unwell. NSW Police are also conducting Operation Stay At Home in an effort to keep the region safe.
