Chifley Dam to reopen

MEDIA RELEASE 9 September 2021

Chifley Dam to reopen

Chifley Dam will reopen to the community for recreational use from Saturday, 11 September.

Mayor Ian North said Council has reviewed its operations at the dam and has put measures in place to allow both the protection of our critical water infrastructure and staff and allow community access.

“While the dam will be open to our community, I would like to remind everyone to follow the rules currently in place,” he said.

Public access to the dam is contingent on the community abiding by the conditions of the Public Health Order and following COVID-safe practices including wearing face masks and practising physical distancing.

Council will continue to monitor the situation over coming weeks
