Australia Day Ambassadors

MEDIA RELEASE
9 January 2020

The founders of Mama Lana’s Community Foundation, Lana and Roger Borg, have been announced as Bathurst’s Australia Day Ambassadors.

Mama Lana’s Community Foundation has over 80 volunteers dedicated to helping homeless and the underprivileged. The foundation offers hot meals six nights a week, supplies food and toiletry packs, as well as providing clothing, sleeping bags, swags and blankets. The foundation also works with other charities and support services.

Mayor Bobby Bourke said he was honoured to have both Lana and Roger Borg attend our Australia Day activities.

“Their dedication to helping those less fortunate is what being Australian is all about and we look forward to hearing their story which epitomises the Australian culture of giving and lending a hand to those who need it most," he said.
