Draft George Park Sports Precinct Master Plan
Consultation has concluded
At its Ordinary Meeting held 15 August 2018, a report was presented to Council for the adoption of the George Park Sport Precinct Master Plan. At that meeting, Council resolved to place the Draft Master Plan proposal for the ongoing development of George Park on public exhibition for 28 days and that a further report be presented to Council after the exhibition period. To date Council has not adopted any Master Plan for George Park.
In March 2021, Council recommenced discussions with the various sporting user groups in order to assess the future needs for the development of George Park. These discussions addressed a range of issues including increased field usage and demand, field quality and performance issues and to determine various works and upgrades considered necessary for the development of George Park.
The revised George Park Master Plan has now been prepared as a result of the desire from sporting stakeholders for Council to set a clear direction in relation to future needs at George Park for the growth and development of sport. This has been considered an urgent priority as it will enable sporting groups to plan for their future at George Park and be able to plan on infrastructure projects and upgrades that have the support and approval of Council.
Council is seeking community feedback on the Concept Design which is now available for public comment.
