Earthworks have commenced

Works this week have involved removal of the blisters and the roundabout. The road surface is being excavated to enable the crews to locate services.

This phase of the project involves a lot of earthworks and crews have been watering the surfaces to keep dust to a minimum.

The work schedule has been extended to include Saturday mornings in order to have the project completed as soon as possible.

VMS boards are at key locations near the intersection advising motorists of the closure. Provision for u-turns are available on all approaches. Pedestrians will continue to have access to businesses, however there will be some impact to parking near the work site and for those that fall within the work zone.

Council is also advertising the full closure on local radio, along with a separate ad to advise that all businesses near the work site are open for business.
