Help shape the future of tourism and events in the Bathurst region

Bathurst Regional Council is embarking on an important project to shape the future of tourism and events across our region, and we would greatly value your input.

We are currently developing the Bathurst Region Destination Management Plan and Event Strategy 2026-2030 to shape the future of tourism and events across our region. This strategy will provide a clear roadmap for long-term growth by building on our local strengths, supporting businesses and reflecting the unique character of our city and region.

The strategy’s development will run from April to July, and we will involve Bathurst’s tourism and event industry in helping to shape the strategy through consultation sessions in May.

To execute this project, Council has engaged Tilma Group, one of Australia’s most respected regional tourism and events agencies.

Born and bred in regional Australia, Tilma Group has partnered with rural destinations across NSW since 2008. For this project, they have brought on their sister company, the Australian Centre for Regional Events. Together, they provide deep industry insight and are uniquely positioned to deliver a clear, evidence-based and practical roadmap that reflects the identity of the Bathurst region while supporting community values.

Why Your Participation Matters

The success of this strategy relies on our local industry and community sharing their collective knowledge, wisdom and experience. By helping us understand what is currently working well and what needs improvement, you will help shape the strategy and influence the direction of tourism in our region for the next four years.

We look forward to hearing your ideas and working together to build a vibrant future for the Bathurst region.
