Message from the Mayor and Bathurst Regional Councillors:

The search is now on to identify further Bathurst Living Legends. There are many individuals in the Bathurst community who have contributed to the great city in which we live. Here is our chance to recognise them as Living Legends.

The title, Living Legend, recognises the achievements of individuals and the way they have contributed positively to the local community. They could be proven leaders amongst their peers. They possess a drive to promote the positive qualities of Council, the community and local businesses.

An individual will be considered for the Living Legend list if they currently live within the Bathurst Regional Council area. For many years they will have contributed to making Bathurst a great place to live and visit. We would expect that they possess a drive to promote the positive qualities of our city, its people, and experiences.

Successful applicants will be acknowledged during the Australia Day Awards Ceremony held in January 2024.

Nominate the Living Legends and thank them for their contribution to the city in which we live!

    Message from the Mayor

The search is now on for the next Bathurst Citizen of the Year.

The Local Citizen of the Year Award honours a deserving member of the community and recognises their outstanding contribution to the local community within the past two years. The award is presented annually as part of the Australia Day awards ceremony.

The Citizen of the Year Awards have been a part of the Australia Day in NSW program since 2005, with Local Government Areas (LGAs) embracing the program to celebrate outstanding citizens across the state. The Australia Day Council of NSW provides certificates for presentation to the Citizen of the Year with the local Citizen of the Year Award administered by Bathurst Regional Council.

The Citizen of the Year is encouraged to be involved in a number of Council initiatives and activities.

Nominate an outstanding Bathurst Citizen and thank them for their contribution to the City in which we live!

Please note there are conditions of entry and eligibility criteria that apply to the award.

Council looks forward to your application and thank you for being involved.
