Eglinton (West) deletion of reservation of land for school purposes and new reservation of land for open space

Exhibition of the draft DCP has now closed.

Council previously placed on public exhibition an amendment to the DCP Map for Eglinton which proposed to:

• Delete the School Expansion special use for Eglinton School; and
• Reserve an area approximately 5200sqm for open space adjoining the western boundary of the Eglinton School.

An amendment to the Eglinton Open Space and Drainage Section 94 Plan was also proposed. The Section 94 Plan amendment sought to include the identified land in the Plan and increase the contribution rate from $3,320 to $3,398 per lot.

The documentation exhibited in March is included in the document library.

Council received a number of submissions during the public exhibition period relating to the proposed amendments, including a submission from the landowner. The landowner’s submission sought to amend the proposal and locate the proposed road immediately adjacent to the western boundary of the Eglinton School.

Council has drafted a further DCP Map for Eglinton which illustrates the location of the proposed road adjacent to the western boundary of the Eglinton School. As part of the amended draft DCP Map, the proposed open space has been deleted, and if this Map were to be adopted, the amendment to the Section 94 Plan would be discontinued.

Council sought comments in relation to the revised draft DCP Map. The draft Plan was on public exhibition from 15 May 2017 to 13 June 2017.

Council received a number of submissions in relation to the matter and will be holding a discussion forum in the near future. Invitations will be sent to those who made submissions advising of the date.
