Key Dates

Recommendation: That Council staff prepare a policy for the increased protection of trees within the Bathurst Regional Council Local Government Area (excluding rural zones) 

Council staff have been working on reviewing Council's current policies, controls and practices as they relate to tree management and preservation.  Community Consultations are being held to report on this work and establish. 

1. Community views on trees impacted by development.
2. Community understanding of Council’s role in tree preservation.

These views will be considered in developing a draft policy / strategic response as described by the Councillor Motion.   Public exhibition of the draft policy/strategic response will also seek to identify the community’s wishes to move towards ‘Involvement’ and ‘collaboration’ within this response.
